FP Function: Insert or Include Page (SSI TAGS)
Insert or Include Page is one of the most powerful
functions FrontPage has. It allows you to make a block of text or graphics or both
and then insert it into as many pages as you want. Then if you need to update this
information, you only need to edit the block and every page that contains the block is
updated.
Confused?
Well, let me take your copyright for example. It is already an included page but
let's take a look about how it was built.
If you go into FrontPage and make a new blank page and name it
copyright.htm. Then on that page make a table that is 100%
wide and
copy your copyright info into it. Then save. Then go into your
template and all your other pages and remove the copyright that is there and then choose
INSERT then WEB COMPONENT then INCLUDED CONTENT then then browse for the copyright.htm page and choose
it and say ok. Then save the page. Now, if you run your cursor over the
copyright you will see a little hand with a page and you CANNOT edit it. But if
you open the copyright.htm page and edit it then save every single page will be updated
for you.
