Your site hacked? Part 9
Just a quick update to announce that we are moving sites around starting today and will run through the weekend. We're looking at a maximum (if any) downtime for sites one by one for 30 minutes. You will not lose any mail and your site will not be down completely for everyone around the world at the same time. For example, people in CA may see your site down for a few minutes while those in TN see it up, and so on.
There are zillions of embedded pieces of the hacker's code throughout your sites. We will update here as we go along and as everything is finished up. We are cleaning out sites which is a VERY tedious process. Thank you for your patience.
Most importantly, now is the time to talk about backups. Although this is not something new, this is a reminder that anyone who has a site online anywhere NEEDS to have a backup of their own site. You can do this through your control panels and make sure that you save it to your computer or to a recordable disk. Do not simply make a backup and store it on your site. If you have databases, you'll want to copy those SQL files as well.
